Looking Ahead to 2025: The Year of the Yi Si/Wood Snake

The Year of the Yi Si (Wood Snake) will occur from 29 January 2025 (according to the Lunar Calendar) and from 3/4 February 2025, (according to the Solar HSIA Calendar).  Note: the start time/day varies depending on where in the world you are living.  In Brisbane Australia, the Yi Si solar year begins from 00:11 on 4 Feb however in London UK it begins at 14:11 on 3 Feb 2025.  The Lunar Calendar is used for traditional Chinese New Year celebrations and the Solar Calendar is used when calculating the annual Feng Shui energy flow of the year and 4 Pillars/BaZi Astrology for individuals.

Si (Snake) is Yin Fire with the hidden elements of Yang Fire, Yang Metal and Yang Earth.  The Melodic Element for the Yi Si year is Fire.  Fire element will be supported by growing Wood qi in the Heavenly Stem which indicates a higher probability of fire-related incidents (eg bush fires, explosions etc), esp around February and August.  The increased Fire element can affect you internally via increased inflammation and heart-related issues. There is also a higher probability of incidents occurring in connection with long distance travel, eg by train, air and sea in particular.
